Welcome to Savvy Writing Careers!
I’m Amandah T. Blackwell, owner of Savvy Writing Careers. The website is dedicated to authors, creative writers, freelance writers, fiction writers, non-fiction writers, business writers, and anyone else who would like to learn the ‘ins and outs’ of writing and more importantly writing as a business.
About Amandah
I’ve been a freelance writer, ghost writer, and creative writer the past four years. I began my writing career by falling into it. I was living in Arizona and answered an advertisement for a marketing assistant and noticed the company had another advertisement for a travel blogger. I took a chance and applied for both. I was lucky enough to get an interview and the job!
Since that time I’ve worked with various companies such as a television network, catalog company, interior designer, a wealth management coach, various magazines, and much more. I also guest blogged for a couple of websites writing on various topics such as freelance writing, parenting, teens, and pets. Visit Savvy-Writer, my writer’s website, to check out samples of writing.
What’s Savvy Writing Careers About?
My goal is to provide inspirational posts along with tips and tricks regarding all aspects of writing such as:
- The business of writing
- Selecting the right writers groups to join
- Job leads – only the best paying ones
- Writing prompts
- Networking tips
- Affirmations for writers
- Samples of contracts, quotes, and proposals (I’m not a lawyer – use these as a guide. Consult with an attorney for further input).
- How to write a screenplay
- How to use meditation as a tool to help you become a better writer
- Journaling

- And whatever topics you’d like to see on Savvy Writing Careers
Like you, I found it challenging to build my writing business in the beginning. When you’re starting a new career and have no one to ‘show’ you what to do, it can be pretty darn scary. I’d like to get “to the point” and provide you with solid strategies and techniques along with inspiration for those days when you want to throw in the towel. Believe me, I understand. But there’s that little small voice inside your head that convinces you to stick with it. Listen to the voice!
I appreciate you stopping by and checking out Savvy Writing Careers. Visit the Products I Recommend Page to see the products and services that have helped me with my writing career. They can help you too!
Cheers,
Amandah
